Slow Cooker Beef Joint Sunday Roast
👉Ingredients:
↪️1 beef joint
↪️A dash of oil
↪️200 ml light (watery) beef gravy
↪️Salt and pepper to taste
↪️A sprinkle of rosemary
👉Method:
✅️1. Pour a small dash of oil into the bottom of your slow cooker.
✅️2. Place the beef joint inside and gently move it around to lightly coat the bottom of the beef with the oil.
✅️3. Prepare 200 ml of a thin, watery beef gravy, and pour it into the slow cooker over the beef.
✅️4. Season the beef generously with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of rosemary for extra flavor.
✅️5. Set the slow cooker to high heat and cook for 4 to 5 hours.
✅️6. After the time is up, slice the beef. Then use two forks to pull it apart into shreds.
◾️Tip: The beef should pull apart easily. If it feels tough or hard to shred, put it back into the slow cooker and cook it for a little longer.
✅️7. Once shredded, set the slow cooker to low heat and continue cooking for an additional 2 to 3 hours to make it even more tender and flavorful.
👉4 Helpful Tips:
🔹️Tip 1: For extra flavor, you can brown the beef in a hot pan before placing it in the slow cooker.
🔹️Tip 2: Use fresh rosemary if you can — it gives a stronger, fresher aroma than dried rosemary.
🔹️Tip 3: You can add chopped onions or carrots to the slow cooker for more flavor and a ready-made side dish.
🔹️Tip 4: Always taste the gravy at the end and adjust seasoning if needed — sometimes a little extra salt brings everything together!
