Grilled Steak Sandwich with Caramelized Onions and Melted Cheese
👉Ingredients:
▶️2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
▶️4 slices of your favorite sandwich bread
▶️1 large onion, thinly sliced
▶️2 tablespoons olive oil
▶️2 tablespoons butter
▶️2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
▶️4 slices provolone cheese (or any cheese you like)
▶️Salt and pepper, to taste
▶️1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)
👉Instructions:
✅️1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
✅️2. Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
✅️3. Grill the steaks for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your preferred doneness. Let them rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
✅️4. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until softened, about 5–7 minutes.
✅️5. Stir in the butter and balsamic vinegar, cooking for another 5 minutes until the onions are caramelized and golden.
✅️6. Toast the bread slices until golden and crispy, either on the grill or in a pan.
✅️7. To assemble: Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise (if using) on one side of the bread. Layer the steak slices, top with a generous amount of caramelized onions, and finish with a slice of melted provolone cheese.
✅️8. Close the sandwich, press gently, and serve immediately.
