👉Ingredients:
▶️1 lb (about 4 cups) small pretzel twists
▶️1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
▶️1 cup packed brown sugar
▶️2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
▶️1 cup red and green M&M's (for a festive touch)
▶️1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
▶️Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
👉Directions:
✅️1. Prepare the Crockpot:
Lightly grease your crockpot with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
✅️2. Make the Caramel:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring continuously. Once it starts to boil, stop stirring and let it bubble gently for 3–4 minutes. Remove from heat.
✅️3. Coat the Pretzels:
Add pretzel twists to the crockpot. Pour the hot caramel over them and stir gently to ensure all pretzels are well coated.
✅️4. Slow Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent burning and to ensure even coating.
✅️5. Add Chocolate:
Turn off the crockpot. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the pretzels. Cover and let it sit for 10–15 minutes until the chocolate is melted.
✅️6. Mix and Decorate:
Stir until everything is coated in chocolate. Fold in the M&M's and chopped nuts, if using. Mix gently.
✅️7. Cool and Set:
Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in an even layer. Lightly sprinkle sea salt on top if desired. Let it cool completely until the chocolate hardens. Refrigerate to speed it up, if needed.
✅️8. Break and Store:
Once firm, break into pieces and store in an airtight container. Perfect for gifting or snacking!
