This hearty dish is full of rich, savory goodness and pairs perfectly with creamy mashed potatoes. Here’s how to make it:
๐Ingredients:
๐ธ️1 lb ground beef
๐ธ️1 egg
๐ธ️1/3 cup breadcrumbs
๐ธ️1/2 tsp black pepper
๐ธ️1 tsp salt
๐ธ️1/2 tsp onion powder
๐ธ️1 clove garlic, minced
๐ธ️1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
๐ธ️1 tbsp oil
๐ธ️1 1/2 cups thinly sliced onion
๐ธ️2 tbsp all-purpose flour
๐ธ️1 cup beef broth
๐ธ️1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
๐Directions:
✅️1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and shape into thick patties.
✅️2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties along with the onions. Once browned, remove the patties and set them aside.
✅️3. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and pan drippings. Stir well, scraping up all the tasty bits from the bottom.
✅️4. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly, and season with salt. Let it simmer on medium-low for about 5 minutes, or until the gravy thickens.
✅️5. Lower the heat, return the patties to the skillet, cover, and let everything simmer for another 15 minutes.
◾️Serve hot with a big scoop of mashed potatoes.
◾️Pure comfort on a plate☺️
