๐ฑ Smothered Pork Chops – OMG DON’T LOSE THIS! ๐
๐น️ Ingredients
◾️ For the Pork Chops:
๐ 1 lb (500 g) bone-in pork chops (about ¾–1 inch thick)
๐ ½ tbsp onion powder
๐ ½ tbsp garlic powder
๐ ½ tsp cayenne pepper
๐ 1 tsp seasoning salt
๐ ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
๐ 2 tsp olive oil
๐ ½ cup all-purpose flour
๐ 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
๐ 1 tbsp unsalted butter
◾️ For the Gravy:
๐ 1 tbsp unsalted butter
๐ 1 large onion, thinly sliced
๐ Pinch of salt
๐ 4 garlic cloves, minced
๐ 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
๐ ½ cup chicken broth (divided)
๐ ¾ cup buttermilk or heavy cream
๐ Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
✅️ Instructions
◾️ Pork Chops:
1. ๐ Pat pork chops dry and season with spices + olive oil.
2. ๐ Dredge in flour (keep leftover flour for gravy).
3. ๐ Fry in olive oil + butter until golden brown, remove and keep warm.
◾️ Gravy:
1. ๐ Melt butter, add onions + salt, cook until caramelized (10 min).
2. ๐ Stir in garlic + thyme, cook 30 sec.
3. ๐ Add 2 tbsp leftover flour, stir, cook 2 min.
4. ๐ Pour in broth, scrape browned bits, reduce 2 min.
5. ๐ Whisk in buttermilk/cream, simmer until creamy.
6. ๐ Return pork chops, coat with sauce, simmer 5 min.
