Seared Beef Tips with Caramelized Onions & Creamy Mashed Potatoes (Alternative Wording)
👉Ingredients:
🔥For the Beef:
▶️1 ½ lbs sirloin or tenderloin, cut into small chunks
▶️1 tbsp olive oil
▶️1 tbsp butter
▶️1 tsp salt
▶️½ tsp black pepper
▶️½ tsp garlic powder
▶️½ tsp smoked paprika
🔥For the Caramelized Onions & Gravy:
▶️1 large onion, thinly sliced
▶️2 tbsp butter
▶️1 cup beef broth
▶️1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
▶️1 tsp Dijon mustard
▶️½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
▶️1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
🔥For the Mashed Potatoes:
▶️2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and diced
▶️½ cup heavy cream
▶️4 tbsp butter
▶️½ tsp salt
▶️¼ tsp black pepper
🔥Garnish:
▶️Chopped chives
▶️Red pepper flakes
👉Instructions:
✅️Make the Mashed Potatoes:
◾️Boil potatoes in salted water until soft, about 15 minutes.
◾️Drain and mash with butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until creamy. Keep warm.
✅️Caramelize the Onions:
◾️In a pan over low heat, melt butter and slowly cook the sliced onions until golden and soft, about 20 minutes.
◾️Add Worcestershire sauce, stir, then remove the onions and set aside.
✅️Cook the Beef:
◾️Season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
◾️Heat olive oil and butter in the same pan over medium-high heat.
◾️Sear beef pieces 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
✅️Make the Gravy:
◾️Pour beef broth into the pan and scrape the bottom to release all flavor.
◾️Stir in Dijon mustard and red pepper flakes.
◾️Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
◾️Return the beef and caramelized onions to the pan and mix well to coat.

◾️Spoon mashed potatoes onto a plate.
